Sidley Austin hires six for London team
Law firm Sidley Austin has bolstered its private equity and corporate practice, hiring six partners for its London team.
The new representatives will be joining from the London office of Kirkland & Ellis. Sidley's existing 120-strong team focuses on restructuring, corporate law, real estate, regulation, financial services, insurance, investment funds and structured finance.
Erik Dahl, Christian Iwasko, Sava Savov and Fatema Orjela will be joining the team as corporate partners. Prior to the role, they advised private equity clients on all aspects of their business, including leveraged buyouts, restructurings, management equity, platform investments, fund formation and general corporate advice. Dahl will be eventually join and lead the Munich team, where Sidley plans on opening a new office.
Bryan Robson and Oliver Currall have been appointed as leveraged finance partner and tax partner, respectively. Currall has previously advised clients on tax issues relating to UK and cross-border private equity, M&A and restructuring transactions, and private fund structuring. Robson specialises in matters related to leveraged finance including syndicated lending, leveraged acquisitions, distressed transactions and financial restructurings.
