Palamon rehires Barker and appoints Arbour
Palamon Capital Partners has appointed Philippe Arbour as managing director of structured finance and re-hired Antony Barker as director of investor relations and marketing.
Arbour joins from Lloyds Banking Group, where he was most recently director in the leveraged finance & high-yield team. In 2006, Arbour was a founding member of the large-cap sponsor coverage and LBO execution team. Between 2010 and 2011 he was seconded to 3i as a director in its banking team. Arbour holds a CFA and MSc in finance & investment.
Barker rejoins Palamon from global placement agent Campbell Lutyens and DMC Partners, where he was a London-based investor relations associate. Prior to that he spent five years at Palamon, working across its investor relations and marketing activities.
Palamon recently announced the sixth exit from Palamon European Equity II, a €670m 2006 fund, with the sale of Cambridge Education Group for a 14.6x return on invested capital, £141m capital gain and 58% IRR.
The appointments follow Palamon's recent fundraising efforts, where the firm closed on €210m after two years on the road.
Palamon has experienced a number of departures over recent months, with its previous head of IR, Annette Wilson, stepping down in October this year. Other departures include Jonathan Heathcote, previously responsible for origination, execution and management, who recently joined Stirling Square; and Owen Wilson, who joined Electra Partners as investment director in September 2013.
