LDC bolsters origination team with three hires
Mid-market specialist LDC has appointed corporate finance professionals Gillian Sharman, Zara Lane and Jimmy Morris to its UK direct origination team.
Morris, who will work from LDC's office in London, previously held an advisory role at Grant Thornton. Prior employers include 3i Group and recruitment business Directorbank Group.
Also a former Grant Thornton employee, Lane will be based in Leeds, while Sharman will become part of LDC's Manchester team after working for BDO, Altium and Zeus.
The appointments, bringing LDC's origination team to six professionals, are the latest in a series by the firm across its regional offices. Earlier on in the year, Craig Hinde was recruited for the Birmingham office and Gareth O'Donovan joined the team in Reading.
The mid-market GP, which is eyeing further hires in the coming months, revealed plans to deploy £1.2bn in private equity transactions within the next three years.
The first half of 2015 has already seen £200m injected into eight companies. Notable transactions include the acquisition of online travel agent Iglu from Growth Capital Partners for an estimated £60m in early June and the MBO of food business Seabrook Crisps for around £35m in late July.
