Software firm Sage dangles carrot in front of Apax's Hare
Apax Partners portfolio support group co-head Steve Hare is to leave his role at the end of this year to become chief financial officer of listed software giant Sage.
Hare will begin his new role at the start of next year, and is replacing Paul Harrison who departed in August.
Hare joined Apax in 2009 as an operating partner. He took on the additional responsibility of chief operating officer for an 18-month period ending in June 2012. In February this year he was appointed interim CEO of Natrada, an Apax-backed company.
Prior to joining Apax, Hare spent more than 10 years as CFO at three listed UK businesses. Most recently he was CFO for British engineering firm Invensys. Before that he worked at Spectris and Marconi.
