Sovereign-backed City & County acquires Quality Care Services
City & County Healthcare, a Sovereign Capital portfolio company, has acquired Irish home care provider Quality Care Services (QCS).
This bolt-on follows the earlier acquisition of Guardian Homecare in September 2010, and Sovereign believes it will reinforce City & County's presence in Northern Ireland.
QCS is a Belfast-based domiciliary care business founded in 1994. It employs around 160 care staff who deliver around 4,500 hours of care per week.
Sovereign Capital backed the £18m buyout of London Care in September 2009. The private equity house committed a total of £25m to help fund a buy-and-build strategy for the company; this latest acquisition was financed by this earlier allocation, in addition to debt funding.
