LDC appoints Whitwell as investment director
LDC has appointed Richard Whitwell as investment director in its Birmingham office.
Whitwell will start in the role on 13 May. He was previously finance director at rural holiday accommodation specialist Forest Holidays. He worked closely with LDC's Midlands team on the firm's acquisition of the business in September 2012.
Prior to this, and following stints at Aberdeen Murray Johnstone and Gresham Private Equity in Birmingham, Whitwell led and invested in the £21m MBO of C6 Solutions, backed by Dunedin Private Equity, in 2003.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Whitwell started his career in 1988 at Ernst & Young, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
In 1994, Whitwell joined the corporate finance team at PwC, where he spent two years advising on a range of private equity transactions.
