Carlyle hires Maguire as MD for energy vehicle

Carlyle has appointed Robert Maguire as a managing director for its Carlyle International Energy Partners (CIEP) vehicle, to be based in London.
Maguire joins Carlyle this month following a stint as a partner at financial services firm Perella Weinberg Partners.
Prior to that, he spent 21 years as an investment banker for the energy industry at Morgan Stanley in London.
CIEP was established in May last year to invest in the global energy industry, specifically oil and gas exploration and production, refining and marketing, midstream and oil field services. The largely London-based team is led by Marcel van Poecke and is part of Carlyle's energy investment platform, which has around $28bn in assets under management.
