Irish Venture Capital Association appoints chairman
John Flynn, managing director of ACT Venture Capital, has been appointed chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA).
Flynn takes over the post from Mark Horgan, partner at Atlantic Bridge.
The new chairman sits on the board of four VC-backed companies, including IP packet developer Corvil, and also manages the AIB Start-Up Accelerator Fund, which has backed 25 businesses in the last three years.
He has 25 years' experience in software and technology venture investment.
Prior to joining ACT in 1996, Flynn held several software engineering and business development roles at EDS, an international IT services company. He has an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.
