Sharp to join Park Square
Alternative lender Park Square has appointed Howard Sharp as head of mid-market direct lending.
Park Square stated that Sharp, who will take up his new role in early January, will be responsible for further developing the firm's activity in mid-sized European loan opportunities and is going to supporting Park Square's existing senior and subordinated debt platforms.
He joins the independent credit provider from GE Capital, where he worked as head of origination and sponsor coverage, arranging club debt and underwritten financings for the mid-market. Sharp left GE after its European sponsor finance business was sold to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe for $2.2bn.
Prior to GE, Sharp spent eight years at RBS as deputy head of leveraged capital markets. Sharp also worked at Societe Generale, ABN Amro and NatWest.
Park Square held a final close for its $2.4bn Credit Opportunities II fund in June this year. The lender initially targeted €1bn for the vehicle.
