KPMG names Hartley as head of PE North
KPMG has appointed director Alex Hartley as head of private equity in the north of England.
Hartley takes over the role from John Hughes, KPMG's head of private equity for the UK regions, who had previously been covering the position in a combined role.
Hartley joined KPMG's Leeds office in 1998 after graduating, and moved into the corporate finance division in 2002. In 2009, he joined the firm's Manchester office where he focused on developing the northern private equity client base.
Notable deals that Hartley has worked on over the last 12 months include LDC's recent investment in Adler and Allan, NorthEdge Capital's purchase of Fine Industries, ECI Partners' Harvard Engineering investment and Gresham's IPO of Flowtech.
