
LDC appoints Ibbett and Wright
LDC has appointed corporate financiers Richard Ibbett and Chris Wright as investment directors in its Manchester office.
Ibbett joins from Deloitte, where as a director he advised LDC on its investment in Angus Fire, and advised Warwick International on its acquisition of IDC. He joined Deloitte in 2000 and moved into the firm's corporate finance advisory function in 2004 to focus on supporting private market M&A transactions.
Wright joins from Rothschild. As a director in the firm's investment banking division, he was involved in origination and execution. Wright advised on the sale of Hansen Protection by Montagu, the acquisition of GHD by Lion Capital and the sale of ATPI by Equistone. Wright has also held roles at Deloitte.
LDC has completed three new investments in 2013, backing vehicle barrier systems manufacturer ATG Access, pub chain New World Trading Company, and the £62m MBO of fire-fighting products manufacturer Angus Fire.
According to unquote data, the firm also exited its investments in child care business kidsunlimited; energy management company Green Sky Energy; retailer Mountain Warehouse; and achieved a partial exit in social housing regeneration specialist Forrest.
LDC's North West portfolio comprises 12 businesses with a combined turnover of nearly £700m.
