Mobeus launches linked fundraise
Mobeus Equity Partners has launched a linked fundraising offer, aiming to raise £24m over its four VCTs.
The linked offer is for investments of between £6,000-200,000 and will be equally divided across the portfolios of all four VCTs. The four funds combined represent an asset pool of around £180m and a portfolio of more than 40 companies.
Since launching in 2004, the VCTs have provided annual returns of between 8-15% when relevant tax reliefs are taken into account. The funds have an annual target dividend of no less than 4 pence tax-free. However, in the last four financial years, the funds paid out dividends of 7 pence, 4 pence, 5.5 pence and 26 pence respectively. Last year's linked offer raised £25m.
Mobeus has been investing at a fast pace in 2013, deploying around £30m through five transactions. Recent deals include nursery brand and baby sleep bag retailer Gro, as well as Virgin Wines.
