Electra finalises UBM data services acquisition
Electra Partners has acquired the majority of UBM's data services businesses, a deal agreed to in February.
Electra Private Equity plc and the Electra Partners Club 2007 fund invested £91.5m and £11.8m respectively. Both vehicles will invest up to a further £7.5m and £1.2m respectively to acquire further data services businesses from UBM. Electra's investment would total £99m if this was to go through – a lower figure than the £114m agreed to in February, since a third-party co-investor committed £15m to the business.
UBM's data services arm operates in 28 countries worldwide and caters to clients in the healthcare, technology, IP, aviation and global trade sectors. In 2012, it generated £179.3m in revenues with a £27.4m EBIT.
