MMC promotes Coker to managing partner, hires Kelnar
MMC Ventures has appointed Jon Coker as managing partner with Bruce Macfarlane, while David Kelnar joins as investment director and head of research.
A nine-year veteran at the London-based VC, Coker joins Macfarlane as co-managing partner, with the two sharing responsibility for day-to-day operations.
Coker joined MMC in 2007 from JP Morgan's global leveraged fund team, where he had been an associate since graduating from Oxford in 2004.
As well as Coker's promotion, MMC also hired entrepreneur David Kelnar as an investment director and head of research. He has previously been the CEO and CFO of two companies that he founded, and has advised early-stage startups.
Kelnar's prior roles include co-managing European software research at Goldman Sachs and New York-based hedge fund Calypso Capital.
