3i in bid for National Air Traffic Services
3i has started the bidding process for a 12% stake in the UK's National Air Traffic Services (NATS), according to reports.
The 12% share of NATS could be worth up to £65m. The selling parties are Thomas Cook Airlines and Tui Travel. Other shareholders include the UK Treasury, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
3i has kept up its efforts to offload assets and complete divestments in recent weeks, as part of a restructuring of the business announced last year.
Earlier in January, the firm completed an exit from German automotive and technology business Norma Group. 3i is also looking to sell its stake in German-Danish ferry business Scandlines, as well as French medical diagnostics company Labco and UK business software provider Civica.
Since the summer of 2012, 3i has implemented a restructuring plan that includes severe cost cutting and debt reduction.
