Emerisque appoints Back
Emerisque Brands, the retail-focused private equity house, has appointed Steve Back as an operating partner.
In his new role, Back's initial focus will be to support the management of Emerisque's Italian fashion portfolio companies, which includes MCS Group and Industries Sportswear Company. Emerisque acquired Industries Sportswear from Moncler in November last year.
Back most recently worked on the restructuring and take-private of Monsoon, the UK-based fashion retailer, and was ultimately named CEO of the company. He was previously CEO of supermarket group Somerfield. Former senior positions in the retail sector include positions at Laura Ashley, Ryman Group, Grand Metropolitan Retailing and Budgens Stores.
London-based Emerisque was founded in 2004 and oversees a portfolio of Italian-designed brands valued at more than €200m.
