BGF recruits LDC's Swarbrick
The Business Growth Fund (BGF) has appointed LDC senior director John Swarbrick as head of portfolio.
Swarbrick joins from LDC where he worked for the past 15 years, lastly heading up the firm's Leeds office.
In a rather unusual move, Swarbrick will split his duties between the two firms in the immediate future. For the coming half year, he will continue working for LDC on a part-time basis, supporting the new director of the firm's Leeds office, John Garner. He will also retain responsibility for a number of LDC's investments in Yorkshire and the North East.
"This arrangement is testament to the strong working relationship between LDC and BGF," LDC CEO Darryl Eales said in a statement. "Our two organisations are complementary in nature and we have in common a passionate commitment to the UK regional markets and a fully supportive shareholder in Lloyds Banking Group."
Swarbrick will be part of BGF's senior team, monitoring investment quality and resource allocation. He will sit on the firm's investment committee.
Prior to his stay at LDC, Swarbrick was finance director of a private equity-backed textile group. He started his career as a corporate finance adviser at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
