Cavendish appoints two partners
Cavendish Corporate Finance LLP announced that Mark Perry and Joe Stelzer have joined the firm this month as partners.
Perry will be leading the team working with media sector clients, while Stelzer will be specialising in Technology, Defence & Aerospace sectors and also dealing with family controlled businesses.
Perry began his career at Barings Asset Management where he worked on the UK Investment team specialising in media and small-cap stocks. He then moved to WestLB where he was part of a team which built up the Private Equity Advisory Group.
After five years working for WestLB Mark joined Seymour Pierce where he headed up the Private Equity Advisory Group for four years, again advising private companies, mainly within the media sector, on their funding strategies as well as M&A and corporate structuring.
Perry then left Seymour Pierce and formed Scott Perry Consulting, a corporate finance group focusing on small company advisory services within the media sector.
Stelzer began his career by starting a software republishing firm before merging this business with his family engineering firm where, as CEO, he used this foundation to build a broad based industrial technology group comprising nanotechnology, defence & aerospace, lighting controls and energy management companies.
The business was floated in 2004 on the AIM as Polaron plc and in 2006 Stelzer appointed Cavendish to sell the company. In early 2007, Cooper Industries, a Fortune 500 US industrials group, acquired the business. Stelzer then became global head of Cooper.
In late 2008 he left Cooper to set up Silver Cloud Capital, offering strategy and M&A assistance to public, private and family controlled industrial technology businesses, leveraging his significant experience of M&A with both trade and private equity organisations.
