3i considers selling its stakes in Foster + Partners
3i is considering offloading its stake in architecture practice Foster + Partners, according to recent media reports.
It is understood that the private equity company has contacted investment banks to examine possible scenarios surrounding the exit of its 40% stake in Norman Foster’s business. According to the reports, Foster + Partners is operating a loss of several million dollars.
The original deal, completed in May 2007, has enabled the company behind the Gherkin and the Millau viaduct in France to restructure management and broaden its shareholder base to include more employees.
