
TCV hires Bret Bolin in London office
Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) has hired Bret Bolin as a venture partner in London-based software practice.
Bolin will focus on investments in enterprise software and technology platforms. Bolin has 20 years' experience in this area, at businesses with revenues ranging from $35m–1bn, according to the firm.
Prior to his appointment at TCV, Bolin was executive chairman and CEO of financial services software provider Misys. He was a manager at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting from 1990–1996, followed by an eight-year stint as CFO at Source Net Solutions.
Bolin became senior director at Alvarez and Marsal in 2005, before moving to Ventyx to become CFO until 2008. He was then president and CEO at P2 Energy Solutions between 2008-2012.
TCV provides technology companies with growth equity. It has raised $10bn since its inception in 1995 and invested in 200 businesses, including Expedia, Facebook and Netflix. Headquartered in California, the firm has offices in New York and London.
