
August appoints two

August Equity has hired Katie Beck as director and Kate Cook as manager.
Beck has taken on a newly created position to monitor August's 12 portfolio companies. She will oversee operational improvements as well as develop exit strategies and refinancing opportunities.
Beck joins from Darwin Private Equity, where she was a principal for seven years. Prior to that she spent three years at Doughty Hanson as an associate. She began her career as an associate at Lazard in 2002.
Cook has been appointed as manager in August's investment team, where she will have a particular focus on execution and transactional work. She joins from Deloitte, where she worked in the corporate finance and transactional services team. Cook is a chartered accountant.
