Fried Frank hires White from Kirkland & Ellis
US law firm Fried Frank has hired former Kirkland & Ellis senior partner Graham White to head up its European private equity practice.
White also becomes managing partner at the firm's London office.
White joins Fried Frank's corporate department based in New York from the London offices of Chicago firm Kirkland & Ellis, where he dealt with corporate and private equity affairs and was part of the management committee.
Prior to his stint at Kirkland & Ellis, University of Strathclyde-educated White worked in Linklaters' private equity practice.
The appointment follows the recent trend of American law firms gearing up to take on Britain's magic circle, which has seen a number of high-profile British lawyers move to US firms.
