Piper hires 3i's Stern

Stern joins from 3i, where he spent for years in the listed-firm's consumer team, and worked on deals including GO Outdoors and Giraffe.

In addition to joining Piper's investment team, Stern will also join the board of Justin Craig Education, the UK-based provider of group tuition and revision courses.

Prior to his stint at 3i, Stern was part of the corporate finance team at Dresdner Kleinwort, and before that worked at Deloitte.

Stern studied economics and management at Oxford.
