Hogan Lovells promotes Whelan to PE co-head
Hogan Lovells has appointed London partner Tom Whelan as global co-head of private equity.
Whelan takes over from Alan Greenough, who is retiring next year.
Whelan has been a partner at the firm since he joined in 2006. He will begin his new duties alongside continuing co-head Jeffrey Hurlburt on 1 January 2014.
While at Hogan Lovells, Whelan has worked on several deals including the sale of Bond Aviation Group to KKR and Investindustrial.
Whelan started his career at Ashurst in 1991 before moving to DLA as a partner in 2002, where he advised 3i on its sale of Pets at Home and Blackstone on its £750m sale of the Savoy Group.
