Carlyle appoints Cardinal Ireland Fund directors
Carlyle has appointed Peter Garvey and Jonathan Cosgrave as directors of the recently closed Carlyle Cardinal Ireland Fund.
Garvey joins the firm following a stint with the private equity group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Prior to that, he provided strategic advice and due diligence to private equity firms at McKinsey & Co.
Cosgrave has joined Carlyle following a 10-year period at Warburg Pincus. While there, his focus was on finding investment opportunities for growth capital and buyouts in the healthcare sector. Prior to joining Warburg, Cosgrave spent four years within JP Morgan's M&A team.
The Carlyle Cardinal Ireland Fund – a joint venture with Cardinal Capital Group – closed earlier this month on €292m.
Earlier this year, unquote" reported on the burgeoning private equity market in Ireland, with unquote" data showing deal volume in just the first two months of 2014 had almost reached the total number of deals done in 2008.
