MML promotes Jones to partner
MML Capital Partners has promoted investment director Luke Jones, making him the fifth UK-based partner at the firm.
Jones joined MML in 2007 as an investment manager for the firm's UK investment team. During his time at MML, Jones has worked on several deals including the £16m investment in Instant, a London-based office solutions provider, in January last year; the £31m buyout of surgical and diagnostic facility provider Vanguard Healthcare Solutions in April 2009; and the £16.5m investment in events management company Arena alongside Sports Investment Partners in February 2012.
Prior to joining MML, Jones worked on corporate finance at Deloitte's London branch, where his role included advising on corporate and private equity deals. He started his career at PwC, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
Last month, MML acquired UK employment services company Optionis from Inflexion Private Equity. Prior to that, the firm acquired a 21% stake in Tournus Equipement, a French manufacturer of stainless steel equipment for professional kitchens, for €10m in September last year.
In November last year, the firm closed its MML Growth Capital Partners Ireland fund with cornerstone investment from Enterprise Ireland, allowing the fund to close well over its €75m target on its hard-cap of €125m.
