Towers Watson's Hunt joins Hermes
Emma Hunt, formerly co-head of sustainable and responsible investment at Towers Watson, has been appointed director by Hermes Equity Ownership Services (Hermes EOS) five months after both firms struck an environmental, social and corporate governance partnership.
As Hermes EOS's new director, Hunt will work from the firm's London office. She will hold responsibilities in the strategic client management and business development areas under the leadership of CEO Colin Melvin.
Her appointment will see her leave Towers Watson after spending five years in its sustainability team. She was still co-head of sustainable and responsible investment at the consultancy when an agreement was struck with Hermes EOS in March for the latter to carry out environmental, social and governance duties on Towers Watson's behalf.
Hunt started out as risk analyst at certification firm Det Norske Veritas. In 1999, she left to become head of sustainability research at asset manager Friends Ivory & Sime, whose private equity arm rebranded to Isis Capital in 2001.
In 2003, she was appointed head of sustainable finance by UK-headquartered Forum for the Future. After two years at the non-profit, she left for consultancy Mercer Investments, which promoted her to head of responsible investments for the EMEA region.
