BGF promotes Mike Sibson to regional director

The Business Growth Fund (BGF) has appointed Mike Sibson as regional director for the firm's Midlands activities, in what marks BGF's first internal promotion at a senior level.
Sibson was previously an investment director in BGF's Aberdeen office. He joined BGF in January 2012 and notably worked on the firm's investment in Portsmouth-based Magma Global.
Prior to this, Sibson worked for a number of years at 3i in Birmingham, Cambridge, and later Aberdeen. He was most recently joint head of 3i's oil and gas team, having had prior experience in the sector as a drilling engineer with Shell at the start of his career.
At BGF, Sibson will lead investments in the Midlands, support portfolio companies as a board member, and sit on the firm's national investment committee.
