BDO bolsters transaction services team

George Byron has joined London-based BDO as manager, while Derek Neil has been promoted to partner.
Neil has been with BDO since 2004 and has advised clients on M&A and fundraising in the tech, media and consumer sectors. Last year, he advised Inflexion Private Equity on the £42m sale of PhlexGlobal to Bridgepoint Development Capital.
Byron, meanwhile, has joined the firm as a manager from Deloitte, where he had worked since 2008, most recently as a corporate finance manager since 2011.
BDO stated the appointments came as a result of the strong M&A activity the firm is currently seeing in the mid-market.
