
Palatine promotes three
Palatine Private Equity has promoted Beth Houghton, James Winterbottom and Andy Strickland.
Houghton is now a partner. She joined Palatine in 2007 and sits on the boards of MoneyPlus Group, icelolly.com, The Alchemist and Gusto. She started her career as a consultant at Druid in 1997, spent four years with SAP Consultants (2002-2006) and one with Enterprise Ventures before joining Palatine.
Winterbottom, who sits on the boards of Character World and WHP, was promoted to investment director. He joined Palatine seven years ago as investment executive and was promoted to investment manager in 2011. Prior to joining Palatine, Winterbottom was assistant manager at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander for five years.
Strickland, who was also promoted to investment director, has worked at Palatine since 2013. He sits on the boards of Wren Sterling and John Charcol. From 2010 to 2013, Strickland was an assistant director at Clearwater Corporate Finance. He started his career as an executive at Convex Capital.
Palatine held the first and final close for its third fund on its £220m hard-cap in June 2015, after just 11 weeks of fundraising. The vehicle's first portfolio company is Vernacare, a medical equipment company, which was acquired in October.
