OceanBridge appoints partners to London office
Deal-by-deal investor OceanBridge Partners has appointed Bob MacKenzie and Nick Hewitt as partners at its London office.
Prior to the new position, Hewitt was global leader of PwC's strategy consulting practice and a partner at the firm's transaction services division. He also held the position of managing partner at the Coba Group, which was acquired by PwC in 2001. He began his career at Bain & Company.
MacKenzie previously worked as operating partner at both TPG and Charterhouse and has sat on the boards of several companies including National Parking Corporation and Hanson. He trained as an accountant at KPMG.
The latest appointment forms part of OceanBridge's current expansion strategy. New hires in the US office are expected to be announced soon.
Founded in 2011 by ex-Permira partners Martin Clarke and Philippe Robert, and former Blackstone partner Michael Dugan, the GP will raise funds primarily from sovereign wealth funds and high-net-worth individuals on a deal-by-deal basis. The GP intends to circumvent the rigidity of traditional fund structures with its investment approach.
