Percipient-backed Cooper Callas goes into administration
Percipient Capital-backed kitchens and bathrooms distributor Cooper Callas has entered into administration.
Following the appointment of RSM Restructuring Advisory, 41 of Cooper Callas's 68 employees have been made redundant.
The business cited the loss of a key supplier, which accounted for 25% of its revenues, as the primary reason for the development. It explained it had been unable to "meet the resulting trading losses and shortfalls in working capital".
Cooper Callas also stated that, prior to the loss of its key supplier, the company had returned to profitability in 2015 after several years of losses.
Previous funding
Percipient backed the management buy-in of Cooper Callas in September 2014, alongside Leumi ABL and Santander.
Company
Established in 1875 and based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, Cooper Callas supplies kitchens and bathrooms to builders and plumbers' merchants, as well as larger retailers.
