
HgCapital launches advisory group with Blick Rothenberg acquisition
HgCapital has launched advisory services business Cogital Group with the acquisition of Blick Rothenberg, a UK-based accounting, audit and tax services firm.
The UK and Munich-based GP has teamed up with former Deloitte global chair and UK CEO John Connolly, who will head up the Cogital buy-and-build platform.
HgCapital said in a statement its intention is to build an advisory services group targeting entrepreneurial businesses and high-net-worth individuals, with the initial growth of the company being driven by acquisitions.
Blick Rothenberg is the Cogital platform's first buyout and will continue to operate under its current name.
The GP is currently investing from its HgCapital 7 vehicle, a 2012-vintage £2bn fund.

The firm was founded in 1945 and employs a staff of more than 200 people with 28 partners and directors.
