Calculus exits Human Race to Tour de France owner
Calculus Capital has sold its stake in Human Race, an organiser of mass-participation sporting events including cycling races and marathons, to sporting events business Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO).
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, though Calculus said it had been a "profitable exit" for its investors.
ASO operates a number of high-profile events including the Tour de France and the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris.
Since the GP's initial investment four years ago, Human Race has increased the number of sporting events it operates, and also increased the size of its existing events.
Calculus acquired a 36.2% stake in Human Race in April 2012 via a growth capital transaction. Investment firm Epsilon Partners, which backed the company in 2010, has also exited the company via the transaction.
Company
Headquartered in Chessington, Surrey, and founded in 1999, Human Race organises mass-participation sporting events involving running, cycling, swimming and triathlons. Its events include the London Winter Run, Windsor Triathlon and Dragon Ride L'Etape Wales by Le Tour de France.
