Balderton Capital hires Anna Thomsen as head of IR
London-based venture capital firm Balderton Capital has announced the appointment of Anna Thomsen as head of investor relations.
Thomsen joins from Paulson & Co, where she held a similar role. During her time at Paulson, Thomsen covered US institutional and European investors, and helped develop the firm's most recent distressed fund.
Previously, Thomsen worked for Boston Consulting Group for four years, advising companies in London and New York. She is returning to the technology industry, having started her career at Google, in the international advertising operations team.
Thomsen replaces Harjinder Johal, who joined the firm in January this year and left her role in July.
Balderton is currently investing from its fifth fund, which held its final close at $305m in March 2014. The last addition to its portfolio was British startup ComplyAdvantage, a company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to help firms manage compliance obligations, for which Balderton led an $8.2m round.
