MMC-backed Love Home Swap sold to Wyndham for £40m
MMC Ventures has sold its investment in UK-based home-swapping holiday platform Love Home Swap as part of a ТЃ40m trade sale to US hotel group Wyndham Worldwide.
During the VC's five-and-a-half-year investment period, the company bolted on competitor site 1stHomeExchange, launched new services and invested in marketing and recruitment.
Following the deal, Love Home Swap will become part of Wyndham's holiday exchange division RCI, though it will continue to operate as an independent business.
Previous funding
MMC has invested a total of £2.65m in Love Home Swap across three investment rounds. The VC initially backed the company in January 2012 with an £850,000 early-stage investment. In November of the same year, it injected a further £800,000, and in September 2013 invested another £1.025m into the company.
Company
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in London, Love Home Swap provides an online home-swapping holiday service, which allows members to swap their homes instead of arranging hotel accommodation.
