Connection Capital backs £13.6m MBO of JCRA
Connection Capital has backed the ТЃ13.6m management buyout of UK-based currency hedging, financial risk and debt consultancy business JCRA Group.
The GP provided £6.7m to support the deal, following which JCRA will invest in the development of its technology and geographic expansion.
JCRA (formerly known as JC Rathbone) has worked on a number of private-equity-backed deals. Earlier in 2017, it advised Dunedin on its investment in UK accountancy and data analytics consultancy Forensic Risk Alliance.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in London, JCRA is a currency hedging, financial risk and debt consultancy business. It primarily advises on project finance, private equity, corporate investment, social housing, real estate and operating assets including care provision and student accommodation.
The business advised on 700 transactions worth a combined £39bn in 2016, across 30 countries. Its clients include 3i, Bridgepoint, Travelodge, the Consensus Group, Great Portland Estates, General Atlantic, Intermediate Capital Group and Barings.
According to publicly available documents, JCRA generated a turnover of £11.9m in the year ending September 2016, with profits on ordinary activities before taxation of £1.1m.
