Mobeus acquires Ski Solutions
Mobeus Equity Partners has invested ТЃ6m for a majority stake in UK-based Ski Solutions, a luxury holiday travel agency, as part of a management buyout.
Following the deal, the company will look to expand its range of services beyond its existing winter-focused platform with a focus on activity- and adventure-focused holidays. The GP said in a statement that it would look to provide follow-on funding to support bolt-on acquisitions.
Ski Solutions has reported annual growth of more than 20% in each of the last three years, according to the statement. It acquired BSpoke Tours in October 2014 and Cycling for Softies October 2015.
As part of the deal, Ski Solutions has appointed John Wimbleton, formerly vice-chairperson of Scott Dunn and part of the group management board at TUI Travel, as its chairperson.
The transaction is the fifth deal made with capital drawn from Mobeus's maiden institutionally backed fund, which held a final close on £166m in August 2016. The GP – which has historically focused on the management of VCT funds – launched the new vehicle early in 2016 with a hard-cap of £150m. The move came shortly after UK regulatory changes were introduced limiting the types of deals permissible to VCT funds.
Including the latest investment, Mobeus Equity Partners IV has deployed more than £40m to date.
