Stanhope Capital launches Entrepreneurs Fund
Stanhope Capital has launched a new investment vehicle, Stanhope Entrepreneurs Fund with a тЌ100m target.
Stanhope expects to hold a first close in December 2017, subject to regulatory approval.
The vehicle will invest in buyouts and growth equity transactions for European SMEs with a focus on the UK.
It aims to make use of the operational experience of its anchor investors to identify attractive opportunities and oversee the growth of portfolio companies.
The GP said its management fees are "more investor friendly" than the usual 2-8-20 structure.
Stanhope is a global investment manager based in London, Geneva and Jersey. It claims to have $10bn in assets under management.
Investors
The fund's five anchor investors are all high-net-worth individuals with entrepreneurial backgrounds. Bruno Moineville, Pierre Cuilleret and Leon Seynave have all founded successful businesses, while Mark Moran led the MBO of Mater Private Hospital and Daniel Pinto, founding partner of Stanhope Capital, previously worked for CVC Capital. The anchor investors will commit approximately €30m combined.
Investments
The vehicle will focus on four key themes: consumer, food, education and disruptive services. It will make a total of six to eight investments and take majority and minority stakes in the companies in which it invests. Average equity tickets will be €10-20m, excluding co-investment.
