
Investindustrial acquires Benvic Europe from OpenGate
European mid-market firm Investindustrial has acquired France-based PVC compound maker Benvic Europe from OpenGate Capital in an SBO.
The transaction closes a three-and-a-half-year holding period under OpenGate, which acquired the firm in 2014.
Investindustrial held a final close on the €2bn hard-cap of its sixth private equity fund Investindustrial VI in February 2016, three months after launch. The fund was 15% deployed as of September 2017, according to unquote" data.
Previous funding
In June 2014, OpenGate agreed to acquire Benvic for an undisclosed amount from Solvay, the company's Belgian parent.
Benvic was the third PVC business acquired by the firm at the time, including Kem One, a PVC compounder, which it acquired through a public-to-private in January 2014.

Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur since its acquisition by OpenGate, Benvic is a PVC compounds manufacturer.
The company runs operations in France, Italy and Spain, developing, producing and marketing PVC-based thermoplastic products. These are used in the construction, automotive, aerospace, cabling, pharmaceutical, packaging and fluid transport sectors. The firm employs a staff of 200.
