
BGF divests Decision Tech to MoneySupermarket in £40m deal
BGF has sold its minority stake in online price comparison and e-commerce business Decision Tech to trade buyer MoneySupermarket Group in a deal valued at £40m.
Under the GP's tenure, Decision Tech has made four bolt-on acquisitions, including SellMyMobile, MobilePhoneChecker and CompareMyMobile. It also invested in marketing, operations and product development.
Following the transaction, Decision Tech chairperson Peter Opperman, who was introduced to the company by BGF, will step down.
Previous funding
BGF invested in Decision Tech (at the time known as Broadbandchoices.co.uk) in October 2012, providing £10m to support the company's international expansion plans. It then provided the business with follow-on funding in October 2016 to support the bolt-on of SellMyMobile.

Founded in 2005 and based in London, Decision Tech owns a number of online price comparison sites and secondhand marketplaces. Its brands include BroadbandChoices, SellMyMobile, CompareMyMobile, MobilePhoneChecker and DecisionTech Partners. The company also provides technology, data and performance analytics to third parties including MoneySavingExpert, part of the MoneySupermarket Group.
According to a statement, Decision Tech has forecasted £3.6m in adjusted EBITDA for the year ending in March 2018.
