Draper Esprit et al. divest Tails.com to Nestlé
Draper Esprit, JamJar Investments and Octopus Ventures have sold their stakes in UK-based dog food retailer Tails.com to NestlУЉ.
Following the deal, the company will become part of the trade buyer's Purina Petcare division, though it will continue to operate as a standalone entity.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, though a statement by Draper Esprit said it represented an attractive return.
Previous funding
JamJar and Octopus provided seed funding to Tails.com in March 2014. Draper Esprit then reportedly took part in a second round of funding for the company towards the end of 2015, bringing the total amount raised by Tails.com to £10m.
Company
Headquartered in London and founded in 2014, Tails.com is a dog nutritionist and food retailer. The business creates bespoke diets for individual pets by asking owners a number of questions and then applying an algorithm based on veterinary and nutritional research. It then supplies dog food directly to the customer.
