
LDC invests in British Waterways Marinas
LDC has invested in the management buyout of British Waterways Marinas (BWML), a UK-based operator of inland marinas, from the Canal & River Trust.
Following the deal, BWML will seek to open new sites and invest in the broadening of leisure facilities at its existing locations.
As part of the deal, LDC has introduced Gary Fletcher - the former CEO of Forest Holidays and current non-executive chairperson at Away Resorts and Lakelovers - as non-executive chairperson at BWML. LDC director Chris Wright and head of new business Andy Grove will take seats on the company's board of directors.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Milton Keynes, BWML operates 18 marinas across the UK, comprising around 2,500 boat moorings. According to publicly available documents, the business generated an operating profit of £1m from a turnover of £8.5m in the year ending in March 2018.
