Dawn closes $125m Opportunities fund
UK-based venture capital firm Dawn Capital has closed its Dawn Capital Opportunities Fund, which focuses on B2B opportunities, on $125m.
The fund was registered in December 2018, according to Unquote Data.
Prior to the Opportunities fund, the VC's latest fundraising effort was Dawn Capital III, which closed on £165m in Q2 2018.
Dawn has backed companies such as Mimecast, today valued at $2.7bn, and iZettle, which exited to PayPal for $2.2bn in Q2 2018.
Investors
The fund is backed by institutional and family office investors across Europe and the US, including British Patient Capital.
Investments
The vehicle will focus on C-rounds specifically for startups offering B2B services. Part of the fund will be used to make larger investments in a number of startups that Dawn has previously backed in earlier stages.
For example, Belgium-based Collibra, backed by Dawn since 2015, is currently a portfolio company of the opportunities fund. The business, an enterprise data governance and catalogue software provider, raised a $100m in a series-E round in January this year.
