Encore Capital invests in vegetarian restaurant chain Mildreds
Encore Capital has acquired a majority stake in London-based vegetarian and vegan restaurant chain Mildreds.
The vendor is the company's founder Jane Muir, who retained a minority stake in the business.
As part of the deal, Luke Bishop and David Kerr will join the company’s board and will take on the role of managing director and finance director, respectively.
Encore Capital typically provides equity tickets between £1m-10m to support the growth plans of UK-based small-cap companies.
Mildreds intends to use the fresh financing to boost its expansion with further openings, as well as through brand extension into retail and media.
Company
Established in 1988, Mildreds manages a chain of casual vegetarian and vegan restaurants based across London, in Soho, Kings Cross, Camden Town and Dalston. The restaurants offer a menu of internationally inspired food, serving hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, home-style dishes and homemade desserts. In addition, the company also sells its Mildreds vegetarian and vegan cooking books.
