Star Capital invests in Windhoist
Star Capital Partnership has acquired wind turbine installation company Windhoist Holdings in a management buy-in.
This is Star's sixth investment from its Star Strategic Assets III vehicle, which closed on €800m in 2017. The fund was 40% deployed as of March 2019. Star invests with a wide remit, targeting assets with enterprise values of €50m-1bn.
The company's current managing director is leaving the company, with Tim Adams joining as Windhoist's new managing director.

Headquartered in Irvine, Scotland, Windhoist also operates in Ireland, Australia, South Africa and Morocco. The company is a wind turbine installation contractor, offering heavy cranage, and mechanical and electrical engineering services.
Using its crane fleet and multi-disciplinary engineering teams, the company counts SGRE, Vestas, Nordex, Enercon and GE as clients. Founded in 2005, the company employs 370 people, according to LinkedIn.
