YFM acquires PMT
YFM Private Equity has acquired music retailer Professional Music Technology (PMT).
YFM is currently investing from its YFM Equity Partners Buyout Fund I, which closed on £45m in 2017 and was 70% deployed as of June 2019. The fund makes investments of up to £10m in profitable businesses in the UK.
PMT's David Black led the buyout and will become managing director, with the current commercial director and operations director also investing in the transaction. Peter Moss will join as financial director and David Garratt joins as non-executive chairman. The founders of the company will retain a share of the company.
Following the transaction, PMT plans to open more shops and will invest in its existing online presence.
