
LDC launches Newcastle office

LDC has announced the firm will open an office in Newcastle.
Gareth Marshall has been promoted to head of Newcastle to lead the new office. Marshall has been an investment director at the firm since 2017, when he joined from his position as a director in the corporate team of PwC.
He will be joined by origination director Zara Lane, who joined the firm in 2015. The firm has also appointed Mike Barker to the position of investment director. Barker previously managed his own advisory firm, Barker Advisory, and, prior to that, worked as an assistant director for Deloitte.
The team will work towards identifying investment opportunities in the north-east. The firm currently has more than £100m invested in portfolio companies across the region, including Newcastle-based NBS and Northumberland-headquartered Mandata, according to a statement.
LDC employs 50 investment professionals in teams in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Reading.
