Blantyre invests in McAvoy
Blantyre Capital has invested in offsite construction company McAvoy Group.
Blantyre is currently investing from its Special Situations Fund 1, which held a final close on €500m in October 2019.
Blantyre has invested in excess of £1m, according to a statement. The investment will go towards the company's expansion in the offsite sector.
The McAvoy family – Orla Corr and Conor McAvoy – will remain as shareholding directors, while the current board will continue to be led by managing director Mark Lowry and will be joined by a director from Blantyre.

The McAvoy Group offers a range of design, manufacturing, fitting out and construction services for the delivery of buildings in the education, healthcare, commercial and infrastructure sectors. The company has been delivering bespoke, fast-track offsite schemes and interim modular buildings for the past 50 years and it has two purpose-built manufacturing centres in Northern Ireland.
Based in Dungannon and founded in 1972, the company generated an operating loss of £1.3m from revenue of £44m in 2018. Tee company employed 217 people in 2018.
