YFM exits GroupBC investment
YFM Equity Partners has sold its stake in construction software provider GroupBC to trade buyer Bentley Systems.
The acquirer intends to build on GroupBC's information management experience in construction project information management guidelines ISO 19650. The company's experience is expected to advance Bentley's building information modeling (BIM) software.
Previous funding
YFM acquired Business Collaborator, as it was then known, in 2014. At the time, the GP was investing from its Growth I fund. It injected £3.35m into the company, which was carved out from Unit4, a Dutch software company that was taken private by Advent International in 2013 for €1.28bn.
Company
Based in Reading and founded in 1998, GroupBC develops document and information management software for construction projects and asset-owning customers. The company's core product, BC Enterprise, is intended to allow teams to connect, control and collaborate on documents and drawings on a cloud-based platform.
